Injection Therapy
·        Intramuscular Injections
Vitamins and minerals are delivered intramuscularly. By using this method you can bypass absorption and the vitamins and minerals go directly into the surrounding tissue. The injections are used as a test for deficiency as well as treatment.
·        IV Therapy
Note: Owing to new regulations in Ontario, The NaturalPath cannot offer ozone and chelation therapies. Efforts are being made through our professional association to restore the rights of Ontarians to received these scientifically proven and accepted treatments.
1.  Chelation therapy is an intravenous treatment used to rid the body of potentially deadly toxins, to restore good circulation to all of the bodily tissues, and to remove or reduce the amount of debris along the arterial walls. It has been proven to effectively treat atherosclerosis (hardening of the arteries) and gangrene, and can dramatically improve the quality of life for patients with arthritis, lupus, scleroderma, and failing memories. A mildly acidic substance called ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA) is added to the bloodstream to break down metastatic calcium and mobilize heavy metals for excretion through the kidneys. A chelation treatment, or infusion, takes between two and three hours, during which the patient is asked to rest comfortably. The treatments themselves are painless and there are almost no reported side effects. The number of treatments required depends on the patient's initial condition and how well his or her body responds to the infusions. Since the 1960's, almost one million North Americans have been treated with chelation therapy, but government regulators have yet to approve the use of EDTA for anything other than reducing heavy metal toxicity. The amount of EDTA used in each infusion treatment is said to be less toxic than taking one aspirin tablet. Some researchers have asserted that if chelation were to be adopted as a standard medical practice for reducing arterial plaque, nearly 85% of coronary bypass surgeries could be avoided.Â
2.  Vitamins and minerals are used intravenously to achieve a higher therapeutic dosage than would be achieved if given orally. The most popular are Meyers cocktail and IV vitamin C. Anyone can benefit from IV therapy, but those with digestive difficulties, metabolic/endocrine imbalances and cancer are going to to get the most from this type of therapy.
3.  Bio-oxidative intravenous therapies including oxygen, hydrogen peroxide and ozone. While still somewhat controversial in North America, these therapies have been used for over a century in Europe and are widely accepted elsewhere in the world. They have proven to be effective in the treatment of infections, allergies, circulatory problems and chronic fatigue syndrome, and show promise as experimental treatments for cancer, HIV and AIDS. Oxygen therapy and its counterparts, ozone therapy and hydrogen peroxide therapy, are used to destroy disease-causing toxins and micro-organisms. The substance to be used is injected into the blood, or occasionally, just under the skin, which starts a complex biochemical process within the body. In the case of oxygen, the body's cells may be rejuvenated and strengthened, thus preventing abnormal cell growth and restoring the patient's immunity to disease. In the case of hydrogen peroxide, oxidation occurs within the cells, which helps to deactivate toxins and kill bacteria, viruses and other micro-organisms, while leaving healthy, living cells in tact. Ozone therapy combines these two processes.Â
