Medical Thermography: A new diagnostic tool
Acubase Testing
Acubase testing combines the principles of classical acupuncture with state-of-the-art computer technology to detect and measure energy imbalances in the body. A technician simply touches a tiny sensor to detect and measure energy imbalances in the body. Because these points lie along the major energy channels or meridians of the body, they are more electrically conductive than the surrounding tissues. The AcuBase computer records and analyzes these electrical measurements and produces a profile that shows how efficiently the major systems of the body are working.
Acubase can also be used to determine your body’s sensitivities to various foods, chemicals and/or environmental irritants, such as pollens, fungi and moulds. AcuBase testing is painless and free of side effects
General Diagnostics
The Natural Path also offers consultation time with Tracey Folkard BSc., N.D. discuss your X-rays, CAT Scans and Ultrasound reports you bring with you. In addition to our other diagnostics previously listed, all new patients are given a limited physical exam and an extensive case history is taken as part of the investigative procedure.
Heavy metal testing
Heavy metal testing involves a quick urine excretion test which can determine possible heavy metal toxicity/burden.
Bio-Impedance Analysis
An electric current is sent through the body to measure body fat, water (intra and Extracellular), bone density, muscle mass, resting metabolic rate, visceral fat, biological age and weight. This type of measurement takes under two minutes and allows us to tract your progress.
 Vascular Testing
Heart attack and stroke are the number one killers in North America. Prior to now there has been no effective non-invasive way to determine risk. Vascular testing is the most cost-effective way to determine risk with vascular flexibility. Vascular testing measures blood pressure, records pulse, pulse pressure (systolic minus diastolic blood pressure), and provides additional cardiovascular information (Arterial Stiffness Index - ASI) for the doctor. The ASI is a number that correlates with a tendency towards arteriosclerosis. The higher the ASI the more likely someone has arteriosclerosis. Blood pressure provides important clinical information on the blood circulation system since the actual blood pressure level is a function of cardiovascular dynamics that are determined by the strength of the heartbeat and the overall condition of the arterial system.
Vascular testing with blood work consists of cholesterol, triglycerides, HDL/LDL, and creatinine. Blood work interpretation is based on the ongoing Framingham Heart Study (started in 1949 and still going) that identifies the major risk factors for heart disease and calculates percentage risk of a coronary event in the next 10 years based upon this study of 5205 individuals over more than 50 years.

Conventional Blood and Urine analysis
The Natural Path offers routine blood and urine tests, such as those performed and/ or recommended by your MD. When performed at our clinic, the costs of these tests are not covered by the socialized health insurance system or by most private health insurance plans. Check with your private health insurer for coverage.
Healthy And Active - The Metabolism Program
The healthy and active program is an individualized nutrition program aimed at boosting metabolism while optimizing weight. It includes an extensive metabolic analysis (40 blood values) in the laboratory and body impedance analysis. Factors such as, which blood type you are, metabolic type, glycemic load values of food, body fat, body cell composition, physical fitness and water balance are all taken into consideration to determine which foods are appropriate for you. Â The personalized nutrition program is based on the most up-to-date scientific findings concerning the relationship between metabolism and nutrition.
